Ada was born on May 15, 1929 to Joseph Vernon Blackwell and Mary Katherine (Tate) Blackwell.  She was the youngest of eight children.  Ada grew up in Lockhart, Texas and graduated from Lockhart High School.  On August 12, 1948 she married her Marine sweetheart, Harold Tidwell.  They were blessed with five children.  The family lived in several places because of Harold’s job in the oil field, but eventually settled in Early, TX in 1962.  Ada made a mark in the community as she owned and operated the Early Dairy Mart.  She served burgers and many other special treats with pleasure to numerous friends and family.  She also was a fantastic cook at home.  Ada was a devoted wife and mother and a devout Christian.

Those left to cherish her memeory are her daughter, Nancy Whiteley and her husband Mike of Early, daughter, Jeana Fowler and her husband Donald of Early; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild with another on the way.

Those preceding her in death are her parents, her husband of forty seven years, Harold; her infant son, Richard, her sons, James and William; a granddaughter Bundy Fowler Bowers; and her six brothers and a sister.

Pall Bearers for Ada will be grandsons, Chad Whiteley, Cullin Whiteley, Zeke Fowler, great grandsons Dalton Fowler and Brayton Whiteley and great grandson in law, Zac Coppic.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and residents of Brownwood Nursing and Rehab for taking very good care of our precious loved one.
