Harry ceded his fight with end stage Renal Disease on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, saddled up old Dunny and with his faithful dog, Thelma, rode across the meadow in to the sunset.

Harry served two tours in the US Navy during the Korean conflict aboard the USS Oriskany, the USS Lexington and his all-time favorite, the USS Boxer.  He was proud of this country and proud of his service.  Harry’s one great passion in life was horses.  He knew where every sale barn in this country was and swapped horses at all of them.  He was a sometime horse shoer, vet, auctioneer, horse trainer, bronc buster and an all-time cowboy.  He had a plaque on his desk that said, “anyone can be a cowboy but it takes a genius to make a living at it”.  When it came to horses, Harry was a genius.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry C and Geneva Jones; his 2nd wife, Kathy Minyen Jones; a daughter, Laura Beth Jones; his only son, Justin Jones; a sister, Jean Lyman; and 5 grandchildren, Jerry Osborn, Amber Mery, David Adams, Kyle Rourke and David Jones.

Those left to celebrate his life are his wife of 33 years, Ronny Waardenburg-Jones of Early, TX; a sister, Pam Crawford; his 1st wife, Kate Jones; their daughters, Cindy Jones and fiance John Rourke, Teresa and husband David Adams, Deborah and husband Bill Baca, Susan and husband Jim White.  His daughter from his 2nd marriage, Kimberly and husband Andrew Young; step-daughter, Courtney King; step-son, Kevin Waardenburg;  7 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Cremation will be under the direction of Heartland Funeral & Cremation Services, Early, TX.  No services are planned at this time.
