Brownwood News – Friday, October 5th, students in Brownwood High School’s AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program participated in the San Antonio Spurs 2018 Celebration.

Over 1,500 students from across the state attended, and over 20 colleges from the area and across the state were there to promote their schools and to provide the students information about their colleges and universities.

Students were also given the opportunity to hear from some of the San Antonio Spurs front office personnel.  They spoke about what paths they took, including their educational backgrounds and work experience, that led them to their jobs with the Spurs.

Before the game, sophomore Khyren Deal was selected from the Brownwood AVID Program to be recognized on the court.
