RememberingOurFallenExhibit2016A photo exhibit will be coming to Brownwood next month to commemorate and honor those who have given their lives in the line of duty during The War on Terror.

A very emotional exhibit, “Remembering Our Fallen,” is a sad reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by almost 600 Texans killed in The War on Terror while wearing this country’s uniform in Afghanistan or Iraq.

“Remembering Our Fallen” will be on display November 17-20 in the Depot Civic & Cultural Center in Brownwood.  An opening ceremony will take place on November 17th at 10 AM for Gold Star Families.  The exhibit will be open 11 AM-7 PM on November 17 & 18, 10 AM – 5 PM on November 19 and 1 PM – 6 PM on November 20.  There is no charge to view the display and it is open to the public.

All Gold Star Families are encouraged to contact the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce at 325-646-9535 to register.

“We can never forget those who sacrificed everything for our freedom.  We must remember these American Heroes and speak their names when we see their family members,” said Dr. Mary Hawkins, President of Bellevue University, sponsor of the exhibit.  “This exhibit is created so it can travel easily, so that more people will have the opportunity to honor and remember our Fallen who called Texas home.”

The exhibit, created by Bill and Evonne Williams of Patriotic Productions in Omaha, is financially sponsored by Bellevue University, Bellevue, Nebraska.  The display is on loan to the Texas Funeral Directors Association, and they will be responsible for touring the exhibit throughout Texas.

Bellevue University is a private, non-profit University in Bellevue, Nebraska.  Founded in 1966, with the charter of serving military heroes, it has been a military-friendly school for 45 years.  Bellevue University was an early adopter of distance learning and is now a leader in online education with students in the 50 US states and 55 foreign countries, including Afghanistan and Iraq.  More information can be found at www. bellevue.edu.
