ReedJohnFuneral Services for John Reed, age 72, of Brownwood, Texas were held 10:00 am Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Heartland Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Slaymaker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Ebony Cemetery in Mills County.  Mr. Reed passed away Saturday, July 23 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

John Lynn was born on July 8, 1944 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Jesse and Mary Lee Reed. He graduated from Peaster High School in 1962 and then attended Weatherford, Texas Junior College. On September 16, 2000 he married Sandra Newsom in Reno, Texas. He was an active member of Lacy Game Association, raised Lacy dogs, state dog of Texas. His passions were broadcasting with Jason Lewis, the Richland Springs Coyote Football games. Another love, was calling & hunting varmints, and memorable trips with his wife Sandra to Old Mexico, Alaska, and the Caribbean.  He was a retired machinist and a member of Shiloh Bible Church.

Survivors include his wife Sandra Reed of Brownwood; son Jesse Reed and wife Melody of Cape Coral, Florida; daughter Shannon Page and husband Bryan of Saginaw, Texas; sisters Martha L. Myers and husband Willis of Fruitville, Texas, Jesse Wayne (J.W.) Reed and wife Brenda of Peaster, Texas; four grandchildren Austin Reed, Jessica Quazi, Amanda Page and Tiffany Page; Step–children Troy Turner of Laredo, Texas, Corey & Jill Turner of Victoria, Texas, Toby Turner & Holly Turner of Weatherford, Texas, Bonnie & Jerry Burkhart of Richland Springs, Texas; Grandchildren Blake & Bryce Turner, Austin, Rylan, and Addisyn Turner, Quade, Quinci, Nevaeh, Lily, Chloe, Isaiah, and Haley Turner, Haustin, Jordan, and Landon Burkhart; and Great-Grandchildren Cooper Burkhart, and Hollie Turner, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Also, his faithful companions, his dogs Cowboy and Buck.

Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Bible Church, Richland Springs Athletic Department or Solaris Hospice.
