Republican Primary Candidate Forum to be Held Feb. 4th

RepublicanPartyTXThere will be a “Get to Know Your Primary Candidates” Forum at Victory Life Church, located at 901 CC Woodson Road in Brownwood, Thursday, February 4, 2016.  The forum will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. and will last until approximately 9:00 p.m.   Please note the change in location.

Candidates of contested races in Brown County will offer a few minutes of introduction and then answer written questions selected in advance.  If time allows, additional questions will be selected from those submitted in writing by the audience.

Please submit any question for any of the positions and candidates listed below, via email to [email protected] or in writing at the forum.  Questions will be screened to insure they are applicable to the issues concerning that position.

County Commissioner, PCT 1: (Incumbent) Gary Worley, Tommy Blevins, Robert W. “Bob” Contreras, and Jimmy Trowbridge.
County Commissioner, PCT 3: (Incumbent) Wayne Shaw, Pat McLaughlin, and Jessica Acker.
State Representative, District 60: Mike Lang and Kevin Downing.
State Senator, District 24: Susan King, Jon Cobb, Ryan Downton, Dawn Buckingham, Reed Williams and Brent Mayes.
Brown County Sheriff: Billy Bloom, Vance Hill, and Dr. Paul Lilly.
District Attorney, 35th Judicial District: (Incumbent) Micheal Murray, and Bill Ruth.

Any attending candidates of local non-contested races will be recognized.

This forum is being hosted by the Pecan Valley Republican Women and the Brown County Republican Women in collaboration with the Brown County Republican Party.  All of the hosts thank Victory Life for providing the venue for the forum.

The public is encouraged to make plans to attend the forum and to get to know all of the candidates.
