Brookshire’s and The Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club have teamed with the Early High School Key Club and the Early Middle School Builders Club once again in their annual effort to gather nonperishable food items to fill Christmas food boxes for less fortunate families in the community.

In addition to food items, each box will contain a certificate, that Brookshire’s graciously donated, redeemable for a chicken. Brookshire’s also donated a very nice gift card to be used by the Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club to purchase additional items to complete the boxes.

According to members, PVKC has gathered names from churches and school counselors to make up the list of recipients.

“We will sort, pack, and deliver the boxes over the next few days, and our prayer is that this effort will bring Christmas joy to families that might have had a harder time experiencing that joy,” said Kiwanian Don Holland.
