The annual 10K/5K Run and 1.5 Mile Walk kicked off events for the second day of the Brownwood Reunion Celebration on Saturday. Runners for the 10K started around 7:30 AM Saturday morning followed soon after by the 5K runners and then the walkers.
Over 300 runners completed the races this year with additional entries in the 1.5 mile walk.
The top female runner in the 10K was Samantha Burgess with a time of 44:57.3. The top male runner in the 10K was Justin Gomez with a time of 39.35.3.
The top female 5K runner this year was Hanna Sanchez with a time of 19.41.1. The top 5K male runner was Isaac Williams with a time of 18.48.6.
The top male Cross Country 5K runner went to Everett Wilder and the top female was Isabella Lawrence. Top Cross Country boys’ team was Bangs High School boys and the top girls’ team was Brownwood High School girls. The overall top 5K team award went to the Camp Bowie Nationals. The overall top 10K team was awarded to the Brownwood Fitness Center team.
