WrightFuneral services for Ann Wright, 75, of Mabank, formerly of Brownwood, will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 9, in the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Ebony Cemetery in Mills County under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, August 8, at the funeral home.

Ann passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at her home in Mabank.

Virginia Ann Wright was born on June 9, 1939, in Cuba, New Mexico, to Luther William and Mary Lennie (Egger) Russell. She was raised in Brownwood and had worked at the VFW for over 20 years before moving to the Dallas area. Ann had also worked at Kroger for 15 years before retiring and had been a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Those who knew Ann, knew that she had a great love for her grandchildren and that they were a huge part of her life. She also loved Country and Western music and John Wayne, not necessarily in that order.  If there was a tribute to John on TV, it didn’t matter that she had seen it numerous times before; she wasn’t budging until it was over.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are five sons, Leonard Russell and wife Juanita Garcia of Combine Texas, Albert Russell and wife Cathy, of Ohio, Kenny Everhart of Bedford, Carl Ray Wright of Gun Barrel City, Tommy Wright and wife Pricilla of Terrell and her adopted son Jimmy Parks and wife Lela of Gun Barrel City;  five brothers, William Russell, James Russell and wife Nedra, Ernest Russell and wife Charlotte and Jerry Russell and wife Marie, all of Brownwood, and Wylie “Bob” Russell and wife Inez, of Coleman; and one sister, Wanda Nell Dukes of Fort Worth. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members as well as a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Mary Russell; two brothers, John and Ronnie Russell and three sisters, Mary, Betty, and Dorothy.

Friends and family members are invited and encouraged to sign the online guestbook at www.nethertonfuneralhome.com
