Veterans of Foreign Wars District 8 with the District’s Post and Auxiliaries will observe the end of The War in Europe at 10:00 AM on VE Day, May 17th, at the District’s Convention held in Eastland at VFW Post 4136, 918 Highway 570. The public is invited to attend.

The Post will award The Victory in Europe Commemorative Medal to Mr. Deuey Stroud.  Mr. Stroud served in United States Army in Europe.

The war against Germany lasted 3 years and 5 months. Over 183,588 Service members were killed in the war in Europe.
