Reports released for the week of December 2-December 8, 2013 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 29 medical emergencies, 5 fire calls, 1 motor vehicle accident, and 1 lift assist.

December 9

*1:07 AM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1600 block of Waco Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a power line down and sparking.  Oncor was contacted and firefighters kept the scene safe until Oncor arrived.

*7:48 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1200 block of Center Avenue, Veda Hodge Hall.  Upon arrival residents were exiting the dorm.  Firefighters checked all floors and were unable to locate any fire or smoke.  The alarm was reset.

*8:29 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries on 15th Street.

December 10

*4:02 PM – BFD was called to a fire on Austin Avenue where they were dispatched to investigate a power line which was down.  Upon arrival, firefighters found that the fuse on the transformer had blown.

December 11

*10:00 AM – BFD responded to a fire call in the 1200 block of Center Avenue, Veda Hodge Hall.  Firefighters searched the entire building floor by floor. The building was clear.

December 12

*1:22 PM – Fire Call 1005 Melwood arrived on scene to find a small fire in wall ventilation fan in the kitchen. All occupants were out upon arrival. Firefighters extinguished the fire.  The thermal camera was used to check for extension.  Nothing was found.
