Ice Skating Rink to Open Day After Thanksgiving

Brownwood’s ice skating rink is returning for the second year in a row and will be open to the public starting Friday, November 29th and available through Saturday, December 7th during the 5th annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival.

The public is invited to ice skate on the synthetic ice rink which will be located in the parking lot of the Depot Complex at 600 E. Depot Street.

The rink will be open to the public  during the following hours:

Friday, November 29th – 1 PM – 8 PM
Saturday, November 30th  – 11 AM – 9 PM
Sunday, December 1st  – 2 PM – 6 PM
Mon-Fri. December 2nd – 6th  –  1 PM – 8 PM
Saturday, December 7th  – 11 AM – 8 PM

Cost to skate is $2 per person for a 20 minute session and ice skates are available at no additional cost.

The opening of the ice skating rink will begin a week full of local Christmas activities including the lighted Christmas parade set for Thursday, December 5th at 6:30 PM in Downtown Brownwood.    The 5th annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival will take place on Friday and Saturday, December 6th and 7th from 4-8 PM each day at the Depot Complex, Adams Street Community Center, and the Lehnis Railroad Museum.   The festival will feature kids games and activities, a rock climbing wall, food, competitions, and loads of family fun.
