Brenda Arp Announces Candidacy for Brown County District Clerk

ArpBrendaBrenda Arp is formally announcing her intent to file as a candidate in the Republican Primary for the office of Brown County District Clerk.  Brenda is currently Court Coordinator for Brown County Court-at-Law, for the Honorable Judge Frank Griffin, a position held since 2006.  After learning the current clerk, Jan Brown will not seek re-election and of her impending retirement, several friends and family have encouraged Brenda to seek the office of District Clerk.

Brenda is married to Billy Arp, who is a Brown County Deputy Sheriff for the past 24 years.  They have 5 children and 2 grandsons, with another grandson due in October this year.  They are members of the Early First Baptist Church where she currently teaches a Sunday school class and choir.  Billy and Brenda reside in Early, Texas where they have lived the past 12 years.

Brenda has been a long time Brown County employee first serving in the Brown County Sheriff’s Office as secretary.  During her time there she was later an assistant to the administrator and her duties included sex offender registration, terminal agency coordinator for the TCIC state wide, and NCIC nationwide criminal information center.  She was responsible for all entries into the computer system for both stolen property as well as wanted subjects.  Brenda served under Sheriff Bill Donahoo, Sheriff Glen Smith, and Sheriff Bobby Grubbs until she was hired as the Brown County Court Administrator in 2006.  Click here for more information.
