Emergency responders were called to the scene of a motorcycle accident Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of Early Blvd.

According to responders on scene, a red pickup was traveling east on Early Blvd and attempted to make a left turn.  Responders said that the pickup was still partially in the inside driving lane when a tan passenger car traveling in the same direction made a sudden stop to avoid hitting the pickup.  The motorcycle was following behind the car and attempted to swerve to miss a collision with the car causing the bike to fall and crash.

Responders on scene said that the motorcycle rider had a broken leg and was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment.   No other injuries were reported.

The incident occurred around 5:45 PM Wednesday and backed up traffic for several blocks while the scene was cleared.

Early Police Department, Early Volunteer Fire Department and Guardian EMS responded to the scene.

Pictured above is the damaged motorcycle.  More photos of the scene are pictured below.
