Missing Brown County Woman Dies in Young County Jail

A missing Brown County woman was found in Graham, Texas and later died in the Young County Jail according to law enforcement officials.

Graham Police Department confirmed on Tuesday the arrest of a missing Brown County woman over the weekend.  Graham Police Corporal Ford notified the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at the time of the arrest, on May 19th, that 50-year-old Diana Simpson was no longer missing and that she had been arrested on charges of public intoxication.

Texas Department of Public Safety Information Officer Tony Fulton confirmed that Simpson died in the Young County Jail.  The details of her arrest were not available as of Tuesday afternoon as her death is being investigated by the Texas Rangers according to Fulton.

Law enforcement is awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of Simpson’s death.

Simpson is reported to have been a resident of May, Texas and had been reported missing on Sunday, May 19th after not showing up for work for a few days at a hospital in Breckenridge, Texas where she worked.

Services for Diana will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday May 24, 2013 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Maxwell and Dan Chapman officiating, interment will follow at May Cemetery.

Visitation will held Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
