BHS Key Club Members Win Awards at District Convention

Five Brownwood Key Club members attended the 64th annual Texas-Oklahoma Key Club District Convention in Dallas, Texas on April 4th – 7th.  An estimated 1100 people from a total of 78 clubs attended this year’s convention.

“While Brownwood Key Club members attended district convention, not only did they gain more knowledge on how to become a better club, they also received several awards,” reported Pamela Rider, BHS Key Club Sponsor.

The following honors were awarded to the BHS Key Club and its members:

  • Ranked 13th place in the top 25 clubs in the Texas–Oklahoma Key Club District
  • Ranked in the top 5 for Non-Digital Poster – poster created by Marcela Leal
  • Trophy for 3rd in Newsletters  – Editor Karina Sanchez
  • 4th Place Major Emphasis Project
  • Distinguished Club Patch
  • Distinguished Website Patch
  • Membership Growth Patch
  • District Project (Eliminate Project) Patch
  • Governor’s Project (B.R.O) Patch
  • On behalf of the Texas-Oklahoma Kiwanis District Foundation, Key Club President, Linda Luna, was awarded the Mary Cowart Scholarship in the amount of $2000.00 for academic year 2013-2014.
