Brown County Commissioners proclaimed October 7-13 as National 4-H Week in Brown County at Monday’s meeting of the court.

Fourteen members of Brown County 4-H visited the court and brought a huge basket filled with baked goods for the commissioners to enjoy (pictured above).

Brown County 4-H Council Vice President Lucchese Gordon (pictured below) read the proclamation brought before the court.

In other matters on the agenda:

*October was proclaimed by commissioners as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Brown County.

*Commissioners did not approve a burn ban, taking no action on the matter due to the recent rains.  The matter will be placed on the October 15th agenda of the court.

*Brown County Jail Administrator Becky Caffey reported that there were 170 inmates in custody as of Monday morning; 15 of those were being housed for McCullough County.  Caffey also addressed an employee change of Matthew Allen replacing Shelton Cogdill as a jailer at the same salary.
