The Relay for Life Team at TexasBank found a creative way for raising funds for the 2012 Brown County Relay for Life by making several themed baskets which will be raffled off May 29th.

Relay committee members Mia Stroope, Bonnie Belvin and Brad Wells helped challenge employees at each branch and various departments to create themed baskets which were revealed on Monday as raffle sales began.

“Once again our employees rose to the challenge,” said TexasBank Vice President of Retail Services Janet Ogden.  “Each basket is worth $20 or more, some well above that amount.  There are things for guys, girls and even kids.  Some of the baskets themselves are more than baskets, actually useful items themselves.”

Tickets will be available for $1 each,  $5 for 6 or $10 for 15 at TexasBank.  Ogden also stated that TexasBank employees will also have tickets available for sale outside of the bank.

The following themed baskets were created:

  • Outdoor Grilling: Charcoal grill, $20 Sticks BBQ Gift Card, and more
  • Kitchen: Cookbook, embroidered kitchen towels, utensils and more
  • Fishing: Minnow bucket full of fishing lures and other fishing gear
  • Gardening: Wicker basket, hanging plant and gardening tools
  • Beach: Inflatable pool, water toys and many more games.
  • Golf: Den caddy, umbrella and other golf accessories
  • Spa: Bag, gift cards, bath & body products
  • Hunting & Fishing: Cooler, camo gear, fishing gear, and more
  • Road Trip: Dry erase board, kits, bubbles and more

TexasBank has been a sponsor of the Relay for years, but this year is special in that they have formed a relay team and celebrate their TexasBank employees who are cancer survivors, including Brad Wells, Barbara “Babs” Shields, Sharon Ross and Lynnette Ramsey.

The Brown County Relay for Life will start at 6pm Friday, June 1 and last through 6am on Saturday, June 2nd at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood.
