Peggy Meyer Parsons

meyerFuneral Services for Peggy Meyer Parsons, age 82, of Brownwood, will be held Saturday November 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownwood with Rev. Curtis W. Schneider officiating, interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. She passed away Tuesday November 22, 2011 at her home in Brownwood, Texas.

Peggy was born May 8th 1929 to Andy Myers and Rita (Rutledge) Myers in Bangs, TX. She moved to Brownwood, Texas with her parents, brother and sisters in 1940. She was a life time resident of Brown County. She graduated from Brownwood High School in 1946. She then married Ermin Meyer on March 24, 1950 at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownwood, TX. He preceded her in death by 1999. She later married Newell B. Parsons March 09, 2008 at Coggin Ave. Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Brownwood, TX since 1948. She taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for many years in her younger days. She retired from GTE Telephone Company after 47 years of service.

She is survived by her husband; Newell B. Parsons, her son; Ernie Meyer and his wife Marilyn Meyer and granddaughter Shawna Meyer. A sister; Nancy Beck and husband Darold Beck, 3 stepsons; and a step-daughter-in-law. Also, several nieces and nephews. Peggy is preceded in death by previous husband; Ermin Meyer, of 49 years of marriage; her parents, a grandson; Craig Meyer, and sisters; Alice Allgood, and Margaret Renz, a brother; George Myers, also a sister-in-law; Viola Hohertz.
