BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 10/17

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of October 9-15, 2011 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 20 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 2 fire calls, and 1 utility hazard.

Reports of interest include:

Sunday, October 9

*9:14am – BFD responded to an alarm system malfunction.

Monday, October 10

*7:07pm – BFD was called to a brush fire.

Thursday, October 13

*11:31am – BFD was dispatched to 2500 Songbird for an alarm activation for water flow.  A truck had knocked down some sprinklers.  Fire crews arrived, shut off water to sprinkler system and notified alarm company.

Friday, October 14

*11:34am – BFD responded to a two vehicle accident in the 200 block of E. Commerce.  Fire fighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.

*1:44pm – BFD responded to a fire call in the 5300 block of  CR 212 in Brookesmith. Fire crews arrived on scene with Brookesmith VFD & found smoke coming from structure.  Fire fighters entered the structure in full bunker gear and found the source of fire and extinguished it.  Salvage and overhaul performed were performed by fire crews.

Saturday, October 15

*12:24am – BFD was called to a false alarm in the 1000 block of Center Avenue.  Fire fighters arrived on scene and entered building.  The alarm was reset.

*6:42pm – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1500 block of  Austin Avenue which involved a motorcycle.  Fire fighters provided first aid.
