Law Enforcement Blotter 4/19

Law enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, April 19th.

Monday, April 18

*8:23am-Brownwood Police responded to the 3800 block of 2nd Street regarding a burglary.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a male subject pulled into his driveway, got out of his pick-up, and began looking through tools in the back yard.  The homeowner confronted the subject who started making excuses for being there and then left in his pick-up, the report states.  Police were able to identify the subject through details given by the complainant.  The suspect was contacted regarding the incident later in the day.  Several tools that had been reported stolen were not recovered; however, suspect details were obtained and burglary charges are pending.

*10:02am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of 7th Street regarding a male subject who was making threats.  Police found the suspect who is known to have a history of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia walking southbound on Avenue K the report states.  He was transported to the emergency room for a psychological evaluation by MHMR without incident.

*10:43am-Brownwood Police responded to the 700 block of Avenue C regarding a hit and run accident that happened on 4/15 while the complainant was inside Wal-Mart shopping.  There was no suspect vehicle information at the time of the report.

*12:43pm-Brownwood Police called to a hit and run in the 1600 block of Calvert.  According to the report, the complainant’s vehicle had been parked and unoccupied at the time of the accident which was between the hours of 5:45am and 9:30am.  No suspect vehicle information was available at the time of the report.

*10:23pm-Brownwood Police stopped a vehicle for suspicious behavior.  According to the report, the driver, 22-year-old Samuel Sanchez, Jr., was found to be intoxicated.  After failing standardized field sobriety tests, Sanchez was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated Open Container.  He was then transported to BRMC emergency room where a mandatory blood sample was drawn after a warrant was obtained from Judge Griffin the report states.

*10:28pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2500 block of Waco Street regarding an animal bite.  After an investigation, it was determined that a dog bit another dog while the animals were fighting.  A male subject who was living in the area allegedly made a threat to shoot one of the animals the report states.  An informational report was filed.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old John Michael Williams of May for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
