Brownwood police, fire, and ambulance crews responded to an accident involving a young boy on a bicycle who was struck by a vehicle around 8:00pm Monday, April 18th.

The accident happened in the 1400 block if Austin Avenue directly in front of Brookshire’s Food Store in a 40 mph speed zone.  According to Brownwood Police, the child rode his bike across the street and was struck by an oncoming car.

Fortunately, the child sustained only minor injuries.  He was taken to the hospital for minor care and released according to BPD Assistant Chief James Fuller.

An accident report was filed recording the incident.
