michaelbrownphotoThe Chamber’s Monthly Luncheon will be Friday, November 19 at the Brownwood Country Club from 11:30 AM to 1 PM.  The luncheon, which is open to members and guests, will feature an interesting program and will also include door prizes, introduction of new members and a cash drawing.

Michael Brown is an internationally recognized Skills & Competence Framework architect and workforce futurist, with 20 years experience in developing frameworks for large scale, complex systems for Public and Private Organizations. In the early ‘90’s he served as President of Project Bluebonnet which performed the first Texas telemedicine and distance learning projects and under his leadership Bluebonnet established the State Telecommunication Infrastructure Fund (TIF).

He serves on numerous accredited skill/competency standard working groups, designed the initial job profiling system for Oklahoma, Kansas, Hawaii, and served three years on the Texas Skill Standards Board. His research was used to establish first generation human interoperability framework

for US Department of Defense via the Navy’s 1.3 million worker population. His “End-to-End Skills and Performance learning” model has provided a roadmap for forward leaning organizations and several European Leonardo da Vinci projects and working groups.

He currently serves as Co-Chair IEEE Competency Working Group, Member of Ontology Outreach Advisors, and co-designer of Japan ICT Skills System via Open Management Group (OMG), is co-developing the European Union’s skills and competency library to support the Education Qualification Framework (EQF) and the EuroPASS portability documentation system, and is building the Texas Talent Grid and Skills Articulation framework for business and education.

The cost of the luncheon is $11 per person to be paid at the door.  Attendees may choose to charge their meals to their personal country club account.  Anyone interested in attending the luncheon is urged to RSVP to the Chamber by calling 325-646-9535 or email director@brownwoodchamber.org.
