Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 72 degrees; 8.90′ low. Black bass are fair on topwaters, soft plastics, and deep running crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. White bass are fair on pet spoons and hellbenders. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water fairly clear; 71 degrees; 10.10′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs. Channel catfish are fair on stinkbait, liver, and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water lightly stained; 57–61 degrees; 25.93′ low. Black bass are fair on shad pattern shallow running crankbaits and spinnerbaits, jigs and Texas rigs worked along timber and points. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on live bait and Road Runners. Channel catfish are fair to good on live bait.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 71 degrees; 5.29′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse topwaters and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are fair on minnows and green Rat–L–Traps. White bass are good on pet spoons and hellbenders. Crappie are good on minnows and pink tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut shad, liver, and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.
