Lady Lions End Season with Loss to Seminole

brownwoodlionslogoThe Brownwood Lady Lions Basketball team lost the 3A Region I Area playoff round on Friday night against Seminole with a final score of 55-50.

The Lady Lions came out strong in the first half playing solid offense and defense leading at halftime.  Although the Lady Lions continued to play strong in the second half, Seminole stepped up and took the win in the end.

Head Coach Heather Hohertz said, “Overall we played good, but they (Seminole) wanted it more in the 2nd half.”

The Lady Lions shot 16 of 24 from the line.  Trinity Ansons led in scoring with 17 points followed by Patricia Wilson with 11 points, Hannah Mask with 10, Sara Byrd made 5 points, Amanda Gober with 4, and Kelcie Gober with 3.  The Lady Lions end their history making season with a 21-11 record.

The community can be proud of their accomplishments this season and can look forward to even more next year.

Although this ends the Lady Lions season, basketball fans can look forward to the Brownwood Lions’ first playoff game of the season on Tuesday when they face Levelland in the 3A Region 1 Bi-District playoff round.
