Jim Perry, age 85, of Bangs died Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel
with Bro. Donnie Pinkston and Bro. James Justin officiating. Burial will follow in the Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Saturday.

He was born May 16, 1924 in Memphis, Tennessee the son of the late Vaughn T. and Ethel Louise Lester. He attended school at Blackland near Roscoe, Texas where he lived until moving to Bangs 40 years ago. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp beginning in 1943 serving in World War II and later in the Korean Conflict, leaving the service in 1958. After moving to Bangs, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Brownwood ISD. He attended The Early Church in Early.
He is survived by his companion of many years, Gladys Jowers of Bangs

Daughter – Marshia Lynn Perry Wheate of Brownwood

5 Step-sons – Bobby Jowers of Bangs
Kenneth Jowers of Austin
Clayton Jowers of Abilene
Jackie Jowers of Zephyr
Randy Jowers of Early

6 Step-daughters – Brenda Cushenbury of Snyder
Donna Norton of Lubbock
Dayna Jowers of Abilene
Barbara Hawood of Aledo
Dianna Tarpley of San Angelo
Darla Reno of Chico

2 Grandchildren – Rusty Kilburn and Jessica Wheate

A Great Granddaughter – Autumn Sauceda

Numerous step grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren

A Brother – William A. Perry of Chico

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nina L. Poe, a step-dauaghter, Linda Edwards, and a step-son, David Jowers.
