With plenty of H1N1 vaccine available, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department continues to administer H1N1 flu vaccinations. The next H1N1 flu clinic will be held at the North Lake Fire Department on Saturday, February 13th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is no charge for the H1N1 vaccine, and it is now available to anyone who would like to get vaccinated.
Due to the large availability of H1N1 vaccine, the Health Department has also been able to host several other flu clinics around the county. Brookesmith ISD has agreed to host a community H1N1 flu clinic on February 5th starting at 2:00 pm. Several local businesses have also expressed interest in hosting flu clinics for their employees as well.
During National Influenza Vaccination Week, the Health Department conducted its first major H1N1 flu clinic at the Depot and vaccinated just over 600 people, and currently, over 3,000 people in Brown County have received H1N1 vaccinations. Vaccination is still the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from this new strain of flu, which is why the Health Department is strongly encouraging those who still have not been vaccinated to do so to prevent another surge in local flu cases.
