The American Southwest Conference today announced its men’s soccer players of the week and Howard Payne’s Francisco Medina was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Howard Payne senior goalkeeper Francisco Medina (Mt. Pleasant, TX / MPHS) recorded nine saves in a 4-0 shutout win over regular season champion and nationally-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Medina’s performance also helped the Yellow Jackets clinch an ASC tournament berth. He was just the second goalie to blank UMHB all season.
