
The Brownwood Lions placed second as a team at the two-day, 36-hole Abilene High Invitational, hosted by The Hideout at Lake Brownwood, while Caleb Modawell was the top individual.
The Lions shot a 643 composite total with rounds of 325 Friday and 318 Saturday, which trailed only the 623 of Class 5A Abilene High.
Modawell posted the low score of the tournament with a 151 composite score following a 74 Friday and a 77 Saturday. Placing second was Abilene’s Grant Duwe with a 153 total.
Also competing for Brownwood were Cobe Walker with a 160 after rounds of 84 and 76, Will Stewardson with a 164 coming off rounds of 83 and 81, and Peyton Sharp shot a 168 with back-to-back rounds of 84.
The Lions are back in action in at the District 6-4A preview tournament at Abilene Live Oak Golf Course Friday.
