Longma Fitness recently wrapped up three exciting weeks of the CrossFit Open, a worldwide fitness competition that brings together hundreds of thousands of participants across the globe. The event concluded this past Monday, marking another successful year of participation, community engagement, and personal achievement for local athletes.
Throughout the Open, Longma Fitness hosted its signature Friday Night Lights events, where members gathered to complete the weekly workouts in
a high-energy, supportive environment. The atmosphere highlighted what Longma Fitness is truly about: ordinary people doing extraordinary
things, pushing past perceived limits, and encouraging one another every step of the way.
“Every year, the Open reminds us why we do what we do,” said Michael Moh, owner and head coach of Longma Fitness. “It’s not just about performance or competition; it’s about growth, confidence, and community. We saw people accomplish things they never thought possible.”
With the Open now complete, the season continues for top-performing athletes who have qualified for the next stage: Quarterfinals, which begin this. These athletes will take on a new level of competition, representing both themselves and the Brownwood community on a larger stage.
INVESTING IN THE NEXT GENERATION: CROSSFIT KIDS OPEN LAUNCHES
In addition to the adult competition, Longma Fitness introduced the CrossFit Kids Open this year, giving younger athletes (ages 4-13) the opportunity to experience the same sense of accomplishment, structure, and fun in a supportive setting.
The success of the Kids Open reflects a growing interest in youth fitness in the Brownwood community. Longma Fitness will continue to
build on that momentum by offering ongoing kids classes throughout the year, focused on developing strength, coordination, confidence, and healthy habits at an early age.
“We want kids to grow up seeing fitness as something fun and empowering,” said Michael. “The goal is to build confidence, teach discipline, and create a positive relationship with health that lasts a lifetime.”
MORE THAN A COMPETITION. A COMMUNITY.
While the CrossFit Open is a global event, its impact is felt most at the local level. At Longma Fitness, it serves as a reminder that fitness
is not just about workouts; it’s about community, accountability, and long-term health.
For those who followed along or are just learning about CrossFit or HYROX, Longma Fitness encourages the Brownwood community to take the next step.
