
EARLY – The Early Longhorns snapped a four-game losing streak and pummeled the defending District 5-3A Division II champion Tolar Rattlers, 43-14, Friday night at Longhorn Stadium to kick off league play.
Early (2-4, 1-0) rushed for a season-high 314 of its 418 yards of total offense, along with five touchdowns, against the Tolar (2-4, 0-1) defense, with just one turnover.
Cameron Love anchored the ground game with 106 yards and a touchdown, Stone Rattlif tacked on 70 yards, and both Isaac Ybarra and quarterback Caden Wilson contributed 69 yards and two touchdowns apiece.
Through the air, Wilson connected on 6 of 10 attempts for 104 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Andrew Reedy caught three passes for 65 yards and found the end zone once, while Ratliff caught a 20-yard pass, Aiden Driskell pulled in an 11-yard reception, and Da’Corrain McBride grabbed an 8-yard completion.
Next week, Early ventures to Clifton (5-1, 1-0), which defeated Eastland (0-6, 0-1) by a 28-6 count Friday night.
