
HAMILTON – The Early Longhorns were unable to duplicate their opening night success as, in their first road contest of the season, they were dealt a 34-0 defeat at the hands of the Hamilton Bulldogs Friday night.
Early (1-1) was limited to 121 yards of total offense by Hamilton (2-0), which raced out to a 28-0 halftime advantage, and lost one fumble.
The Longhorns generated 78 yards through the air as quarterback Caden Wilson connected on 12 of 20 pass attempts. Leading receivers were Andrew Reedy with three grabs for 7 yards, Stone Ratliff with two catches for 31 yards, Brennen Rasor with two for 17 yards, and Jaxson Stockman with two for 5 yards.
On the ground, Early produced 43 yards – 25 from Wilson on nine carries, 11 from Cameron Love on seven rushes, and 7 yards by Ratliff on his only attempt.
The Longhorns are back on the road next week for the second of three straight road games at Junction (2-0), which defeated San Saba, 20-6, Friday night. Early then ventures to Peaster in Week 4 before returning home to meet Comanche in Week 5.
