
Coming off their first district victory since Feb. 4, 2023 – a span of 18 contests – the Brownwood Lions concluded the 2024-25 basketball campaign with a 111-46 loss to District 6-4A rival Glen Rose Tuesday night at Warren Gym.
The Lions (14-19, 1-9) trailed 20-10 after one quarter, 45-22 at halftime and 79-32 going into the fourth period, thanks to 17 three-pointers by Glen Rose (25-8, 8-2).
Brownwood received 12 points from Ross Strasner, eight from Casey Friebel, six each from Durham Brown and Weston Wolf, five from Elias Perez, and four points piece from Noah Pyle and Brent Jammer.
Six Glen Rose players reached double figures in points led by 22 from Colton Andress, 19 from Camden Singletary, 18 from Zeke Niedziela, 15 from Dawson Miller, 14 from Oliver Jones, and 10 points from Ryder Ribitzki.
Glen Rose will advance to the Class 4A Division II portion of the playoffs while the Lions missed the postseason for the second year in a row.
