
JUNCTION – The Early Longhorns are still in search of their first victory away from Longhorn Stadium as they were dealt a 34-14 loss by the Class 2A Division II No. 10 Junction Eagles Friday night.
Early (1-2) was limited to 186 yards of total offense – 121 passing and 65 rushing – with a pair of turnovers, one interception and one fumble.
Junction (3-0), meanwhile, churned out 455 yards – 303 on the ground with 152 through the air – with one turnover.
Longhorn quarterback Caden Wilson completed 8 of 23 passes for 121 yards with a pair of scoring strikes and one interception, and also rushed for a team-best 56 yards.
Andrew Reedy caught a team-high four passes for 62 yards and scored both Early touchdowns.
Brennen Rasor added a 29-yard grab, while other Longhorns making receptions were Aidan Driskill (11 yards), Brandon Walker (10 yards), and Jaxson Stockman (9 yards). Cameron Love chipped in 11 yards rushing.
Defensively, Aaron Mendoza led Early with 13 tackles followed by Angel Marquez with 10, Brayden Schafer with eight, Aidan Driskill with six tackles, and Stockman intercepted a pass.
Next week, the Longhorns venture to Peaster (3-0) – which knocked off Jacksboro, 28-7, Friday night – in the last leg of three consecutive road contests.
