
The District 5-4A front-running Brownwood Lady Lions soccer team began the second half of league play with a resounding a 5-0 victory over Lampasas Friday at Gordon Wood Stadium.
Nylah Hall recorded a hat trick for the Lions (15-3-1, 5-0) with three goals – two in the first half and one in the second half. Kynlie Lewis and Braycee Lee also found the net for Brownwood.
Lewis started the scoring with an assist from Hall just 10:11 into the contest. At the 24:22 mark of the first half, Hall scored her first goal with an assist from Lee. Then with 1:14 to go before intermission, Hall scored again.
In the second half, Hall completed the hat trick with another assist from Lee, then Lee rounded out the scoring for Brownwood.
Noemi Ceniceros recorded the 13th shutout of the season for the Lady Lions, who have a bye Tuesday and return to district action at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 when they host Little River Academy.
