GODLEY – The Brownwood Lady Lions and Lions combined for six gold medals Thursday at Godley’s powerlifting meet, and also earned four silver medals and a pair of bronze.
The Lady Lions contributed four first-place finishes in their respective weight classes by Emera Lombrana, Amiyah Avalos, Kynley Martin and Leslie Rios.
Placing first for the Lions were Adolfo Torres and Isaac Gonzales.
Runner-up efforts for the girls belonged to Atlanta Olguin, Allison Reyna and Aliyah Berndt, while placing second for the boys was Kayden Doucette.
Notching third-place performances were Lady Lion Ashley Robinson and Lion Tristan Ibarra.
Nery Herrera and Ian Barnum for the Lions each placed fourth, while Maddi Scott for the Lady Lions finished in fifth place.
The next meet on the schedule is Saturday, Feb. 21 at Abilene Wylie.
