Why are you running for this office?
I am running for County Treasurer to ensure a seamless transition and continued financial stability for Brown County. For the past 8 years, I have served as the Chief Deputy Treasurer, working side-by-side with our previous Treasurer, the Honorable Ann Krpoun, to manage the county’s finances with integrity and precision. My decision to run is rooted in this dedicated period of preparation. I was specifically mentored and trained to handle the intricate fiscal responsibilities of this office. I am eager to continue putting my years of experience to work for our community, ensuring that the office remains efficient, transparent, and fiscally sound. I am ready to lead from day one with the deep understanding of our county’s financial operations that the taxpayers deserve.
What are your qualifications?
I have been working in the Treasurer’s Office for the past 8 years giving me the on-the-job training and experience to continue to serve the citizens of Brown County. I have been appointed Brown County Treasurer as of January 1st to fill the unexpired term of the previous Treasurer after her retirement. I am current on all required state training and certifications. I am a state certified County Investment Officer (C.I.O.) that allows me to manage the county’s $25.4 million investment pool. After serving on the investment committee for 2 years, I was chosen by the Commissioners Court to be Brown County’s C.I.O. in December 2025. I am also fully Texas Public Funds Investment Act (P.F.I.A.) compliant.
If elected, what changes will you implement?
First and foremost, my priority is to continue delivering the high standards of accuracy, transparency, and accountability that the people of Brown County have come to expect and deserve. Because I have helped manage this office for the last eight years, I know exactly what works well. My first goal is to protect that foundation of stability.
I am also a firm believer in using technology to improve our efficiency. In fact, we are currently in the process of upgrading our financial software system. Personally, overseeing this transition is a top priority for me because it will streamline our reporting and enhance the security of our county’s data. My goal is to ensure this modernization provides better service for our taxpayers and employees thereby allowing us to manage our growing workload with the same precision and dedication that this office is known for.
