Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 11.14′ low. Black bass are good on watermelon spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are good on Rat–L–Traps, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Crappie are good on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are good over baited holes. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.

Lake Coleman

Water clear; 67 – 70 degrees; 11.99′ low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on grubs. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 66–70 degrees; 29.32′ low. Black bass are good on shad pattern crankbaits, chatterbaits and watermelon red soft plastics, with limited early morning topwater action. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live bait. Channel catfish are good on cut bait.

Lake Proctor

Water stained; 68 – 71 degrees; 5.25′ low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits off points. Striped bass are fair on shad. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and shad. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on fresh shad in the lower end of the lake. Yellow catfish are slow.
