Law Enforcement Blotter 3/24

Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, March 24th.

Tuesday, March 22

*5:44pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 4200 block of US Hwy 377 regarding criminal mischief.  A report was generated for damage to a vehicle and charges are being pursued.

*6:05pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Brooks regarding a burglary.  After speaking with the complainant, it was found that a burglary had not taken place the report states.

*9:24pm-A Brownwood Police officer arrived in the 100 block of Cordell Street to assist another officer with a stranded motorist.  According to the report, after investigation at the scene was compete, a male subject identified as 29-year-old John David Smelser was found to be in Possession of Marijuana and arrested.

*Early Police arrested 36-year-old Michael Andrew Stanley of Early for Driving While License Invalid.

Wednesday, March 23

*8:39am-Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Main Street regarding fraud.  According to the report, an employee of the business who is the reporting party advised that some unknown suspect(s) were attempting to obtain 180 DVDs from the business by using fraudulent information.  A report has been filed.

*3:35pm-Brownwood police met a complainant at BPD who stated her trailer had been stolen from a job site.  She had loaned it to someone who later told her that it had been stolen the report states.

*3:47pm-A Brownwood Police officer was contacted via telephone by a complainant regarding a burglary of a motor vehicle.   According to the report, the complainant stated that her husband’s pick-up had been burglarized sometime last week.

*9:07pm-Brownwood Police received a telephone call from a complainant who stated that her son’s iPhone had been stolen while he attended church.  According to the report, the complainant was unable to provide a serial number.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Mark Justin James for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions/Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
