Wendlee Broadcasting Now the Voice of the Early Longhorns

wendleeWendlee Broadcasting announced last week its new affiliation with the Early Independent School District as the new home of Early Longhorn athletics.

News Talk, KXYL-FM 102.3 and KXYL-AM 1240, are the new radio voices of Early High School sports with play-by-play coverage of varsity Football and Basketball beginning with the 2011 – 2012 seasons.  Local radio personality Bob James will be part of the broadcast team as the play-by-play announcer.

E.I.S.D. Athletic Director, Brad Bowden, will also host weekly radio shows on KXYL–FM/AM, News Talk 102.3/1240 and also on KQBZ-FM, The Breeze 96.9.

Wendlee Broadcasting hosted a “Purple and Gold” reception at Humphrey Pete’s on Thursday, February 24 honoring the E.I.S.D. Administration, Early School Board, Athletic Staff, the Early Booster Club and Longhorn backers.

At the event, Wendlee Broadcasting owner Rex Tackett said, “This has been a dream of Wendlee Broadcasting to be the voice of the Early Longhorns.”
