Gilbert Sellers

GilbertSellersPhotoFuneral services for Gilbert Sellers, age 74, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Zephyr Cemetery under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home & Cremations.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, February 26, at the funeral home.   Mr. Sellers passed away Thursday morning at Brownwood Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Gilbert was born May 8, 1936 in Belton, Texas.  He married Nelda Gober on November 27, 1974 in Belton.  They lived in Zephyr for 35 years before moving to Brownwood four years ago due to health issues.

Survivors include his wife, Nelda Sellers, of Brownwood; sons, Claudie Sellers II of Brownwood, David Sellers of Denton, Billy Worthy of Zephyr, Richard Worthy of Ft. Lewis, Washington, Edward Worthy of Bowie and Robert Worthy of Brownwood; daughter, Christine Worthy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brothers, Joe Sellers of Killeen and Billy Sellers of Austin; sisters-in-law, Joyce Shipman of Tucson, Arizona, Rosie Hamilton of Nashville, Tennessee, Sarah Perkins of Flat, Bettie Richards of Colleyville, June Dennis of West Virginia and Kay Gober of Kingman, Arizona; several grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Sellers; mother Nancy Welch; sons, Paul Worthy and Nicky Worthy; brother, J. W. Sellers; sister, Bertha Sellers; sisters-in-law, Franki Hendrix, Dorothy Smith and Fay Shrum and brother-in-law, Alvin Gober.
