Brownwood Police Officer Trey Weathermon issued a report regarding a domestic disturbance that occurred Wednesday night at a residence on 3rd Street in Brownwood.

The report states that Weathermon arrived on the scene and met a woman who told him about a domestic disturbance that she was having with her boyfriend.

Weathermon’s report says that he approached a man on the front porch of the residence who the woman was referring to.  The report goes on to say that the man, identified as 26-year-old Zachery Buck Griffin, refused to answer Weathermon’s questions nor identify himself at the scene.

Weathermon’s report states that at this point, Griffin turned to walk back into the residence and was ordered to stop by the officer several times.  The report goes on to say that Weathermon pulled out his Taser Electronic Control Device, pointed it at Griffin and ordered him to stop once again.  When Griffin saw the Taser, he made a leap for the door according to the report and appeared to be trying to close the door on Weathermon.

The reports says that the Taser probes made contact with Griffin and he complied with all commands and was secured in handcuffs

Griffin was arrested on charges of Assault with Injury Family Violence, Evading Arrest, and Failure to identify. He was taken to Brown County Jail early Thursday morning.

In unrelated cases:

–A man from Abilene reported that someone had taken his vehicle without permission on Tuesday night.  Police reports indicate that the man was staying with a friend overnight and let the woman that he was with borrow his vehicle to go to the store.  Reports say that the vehicle owner went to sleep only to be awoken by a friend saying that a man had taken his vehicle.

The report says that the home owner saw the woman return from the store with a man later identified as 45-year-old Tracy Lee Kunkel.  The report goes on to say that the woman and the home owner got into an argument in which he told everyone to leave his home.  The woman and Kunkel get into the vehicle owned by the complainant and drive away according to the report.

The report indicates that the next morning, a Brownwood Police detective was reading through the previous night calls and believed he located the missing vehicle parked at a residence in his neighborhood.

The report says that Officer Black located the suspect. Kunkel stated that he was given the car by the woman as payment on a bond as he worked for a bail bond agency outside of Brownwood.

The report goes on to say that Officer Black called the bail bond company and the woman he spoke with at the agency said that Kunkel told her that a person gave him a set of car keys and named the location of the vehicle.  The report also says that the woman at the bail bond company stated that Kunkel did not work for her.

Kunkel was then arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and taken to the Brown County Jail.

–A man reported that someone used black stray paint on his pickup that was parked on Davis Lane.  Someone has spray painted both license plates and a Dallas Cowboys emblem in his rear windshield.

–Police were called to Fort Worth St on Tuesday evening regarding an assault where someone was punched in the face.
