The Brown County Sheriff’s Office released several reports issued by deputies during the last week.

Deputy Stroope responded to a call from a man who reported that his parked pickup had been shot.  The owner of the pickup had the vehicle parked in the bar ditch early last week off of Hwy 67/377 offering it for sale.  The next day the owner noticed a hole in the door of the vehicle.

Deputy Stroope reported to have seen the hole that went through the door & through the seat.

The owner estimates that the repair cost of the damage will be around $600.

The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating.

-In an unrelated cases:

-Sheriff’s deputies are also looking into a burglary of a storage unit.  Deputies received a report from a man stating that the lock off his storage unit located on Spruce St. had been cut and some items were missing.   Deputies are still investigating.

-Sheriff Deputy John Fincher made a traffic stop on Hwy 377 S late Thursday night for speeding.  Fincher states in his report that he smelt a strong odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath.  Fincher performed the standardized field sobriety tests to the driver, identified as Jose Quincy Chavez.  Chavez was arrested for DWI and taken to Brown County Jail.

-Last weekend Deputy Jed Polnick made a traffic stop on Cork Drive for speeding.  The report states that the driver, identified as Cecil James Koerner, acted nervous.  The report says that Koerner said that he was nervous because he was on probation and had been drinking.  Dispatch advised the deputy that the registration of the stopped vehicle had expired in February.  Upon closer inspection, Deputy Polnick observed that the registration sticker had been altered.  Koerner was arrested for the altered and fictitious registration sticker and was transported to Brown County Jail.
