Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 61 degrees; 9.43′ low. Black bass are fair on black/blue jigs and redbug and watermelon red Persuader crankbaits, in 10 – 20 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and minnows under lights at night. Crappie are good on minnows and Li’l Fishies over brush piles in 10 – 25 feet. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and punchbait over baited holes. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water fairly clear; 61 degrees; 10.57′ low. Black bass are good on green pumpkin and chartreuse soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Channel catfish are fair on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water lightly stained; 49–57 degrees; 27.16′ low. Black bass are fair on Rat–L–Traps, Texas rigs and chatterbaits. Crappie are fair on live minnows. No reports on white bass. Channel catfish are fair to good on prepared bait.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 60 degrees; 5.76′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse and green pumpkin soft plastics and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows, Rat–L–Traps, and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
