Russell Wayne Schwartz was born May 25, 1957 in Brownwood. He passed away on April 9, 2020 in Amarillo at the age of 62 from complications of heart disease.

Rusty was raised in Comanche and attended Comanche ISD. He obtained his GED in 2010 at the age of 52 and was very proud of that accomplishment.  He was a heavy equipment operator and diesel mechanic. There was no road, building pad site, or dirt work he couldn’t do. Rusty had a natural skill for operating dozers and motor graders. He owned his own construction business in Comanche for several years.

Rusty loved is friends, family and would help anyone in need. He is best known for his sense of humor and laugh. Fishing and hanging out with friends at Proctor Lake were his favorite past times.

Rusty is survived by his son Mark Schwartz and wife Lisa of Brownwood; His sisters Patty Kunkel and husband Randy of Comanche and Shawn Russell and husband Gene of Early, 5 grandchildren; Marcus, Bradon, Elizabeth, Braiden Lane and Garrett as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Schwartz; grandparents: Will and Alma Schwartz and Jack and Bertie Elms.

An inurnment and private memorial service will be held at Garden Of Memory Cemetery in Comanche at a later date.
