Brownwood News – In a joint news release Tuesday afternoon from 10 school districts in Brown and Coleman counties, based on the March 31st executive order of Governor Abbott, the Bangs, Blanket, Brookesmith, Brownwood, Coleman, Early, May, Panther Creek, Santa Anna, and Zephyr ISDs report the extension of closure until at least May 4, 2020.
Districts will maintain their off-campus instructional programs for students and their meal programs, according to each district’s plan. Personnel should maintain communication with their supervisors to coordinate work to maintain core district operations. Staff who have been providing their services remotely should continue to do so in coordination with their supervisors.

Any employee in a household with a person testing positive for COVID, or any employee with a fever, cough, or shortness of breath is ordered to stay home and seek medical consultation. Employees at work with a fever greater than 99.9 will be sent home.
For those essential employees who must still maintain a physical presence in the district:
- Don’t shake hands and wash hands regularly
- Avoid meetings or work environments with more than five people in close proximity
- Social distancing (at least six feet away from other people) should be observed regardless of crowd size
