Brownwood News – The Brownwood Public Library is closed during the COVID-19 shutdown, but still has some services available.

No books can be borrowed during this time.  If you have books that were borrowed before the shutdown, the Library is asking that you keep them until the library re-opens.  The drop-off boxes have been locked.  There will be no late fees assessed.

Becky Isbell, Director of the Library, says that e-books and audio books can still be checked out electronically for use on laptops, tablets, Kindles, etc.  This can be done through the library web site: brownwoodpubliclibrary.com. A library card is required for this, and if you do not already have one, that can be done on the web site also.

Isbell pointed out that the Library also has online lots of resources such as Chilton’s Car Repair Guide, small engine repair guides, arts and crafts sites, study guides for the SAT, CDL, etc.

A recent service added by the Library is wireless WiFi internet access in the parking lot.  You can park your car in the library parking lot, log in to their website, and utilize their internet connection.
