articleLionseliminatedThe TTAB Senior Midget State Tournament finished up its second day of action with some mixed results for the local teams.

The Brownwood Longhorns played the Belton Blue Jays late Tuesday evening at the Camp Bowie field.  Brownwood took a commanding lead early in the game, but a thunderstorm approached and delayed the game for about a half hour or so.  As game action resumed, Belton started to pick up some steam, but the Longhorns stayed ahead and the game was called in the 5th inning with a score of 19-8.  The Brownwood Longhorns remain undefeated in the tournament.

The Brownwood Lions played two games in the losers’ bracket today after being beat by the Brownwood Longhorns on Monday.  The Lions were victorious against the Rice Bulldogs in the Tuesday morning game moving them forward in the tournament.  It was short lived however as the Palmer Longhorns beat the Brownwood Lions 15-10 eliminating them from the tournament.

Wednesday at 8 pm, the Brownwood Longhorns are scheduled to play at the Camp Bowie Fields.

The TTAB Junior Boys State Tournament continues on Wednesday as well with the Brownwood Rockies playing Colorado City at 9am and the Brownwood White Sox playing at 11:30 both at the BHS field.
