Ruby Kay Olinger Carter, 58 (Coleman)

Ruby Kay Olinger Carter, age 58, long-time Coleman resident, died Sunday, January 26, 2020, in Colorado City, Texas.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street in Coleman, with Gilbert Olinger officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

She was born Ruby Kay Carter on March 10, 1961, in Coleman, a daughter of Chauncey Creston Olinger and Willie Ruth Stanley Olinger.  She grew up in Coleman where she also attended school.  In 1982 she married Earl Carter in Coleman.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.  In 2017 she moved from Coleman to Colorado City to be near her daughter.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Carter of Abilene; one daughter, Kayla Carter (Anthony Isbell) of Colorado City; two sons, Earl Carter (Danielle) of Sweetwater and Mark Carter (Erica) of Midland; eight grandchildren, Willie, Daniel, Tisha, Autumn, Jayden, Earl, Betty and Destiny; two brothers, Gilbert Olinger and Creston Olinger both of Coleman; two sisters, Nita Watson (Richard) and Vicky Watson (Douglas) all of Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, George Carter, and one brother, Ricky Olinger.
