Patsy Winstead, 90 (Coleman)

Patsy Winstead, age 90, of Coleman, died Friday, January 24, 2020 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.

She was born Patsy Jean Dodson on February 4, 1929 in Coleman to Robert Bailey Dodson and Tommie Myrtle Craig Dodson.  Patsy grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 1947.  She married George Dayton Winstead on February 9, 1947 in Fort Worth.  Patsy resided in Midland, Colorado, and Arlington before moving back to Coleman.  Patsy was a member of the Coleman County Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary where she volunteered many hours helping the patients and staff.  She loved her volunteer work and all the volunteers that helped make this organization and gift shop a success.  Patsy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coleman.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Myrtle Dodson; and a son, Robert Dayton Winstead.

Patsy is survived by her sons, George Eddie Winstead and husband Greg Hancock of Brownwood, Jerry Don Winstead and wife Bonnie of Longview; granddaughter, Jennifer Winstead of Longview; step-grandson Cody Winstead and wife Annie of Tyler; great-grandson, Colton Smith of Longview; sisters, Ann Jameson and husband Max of Voss, Roberta Rice of Parker, Arizona; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Memorials in memory of Patsy are suggested to the Coleman County Medial Center Ladies Auxiliary, 310 S. Pecos Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.

A private ceremony and burial will take place at the Coleman City Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
